Care and Treatment Education Programs (CTEP)
The Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) offers Care and Treatment Education Programs (CTEP) for students who require care/treatment and cannot attend school. These partnerships represent a vital component of Ontario's education system designed to provide specialized, continuous educational programming for children and youth who cannot attend a regular community school because their primary need is for care, treatment, and/or rehabilitation services.
CTEP partnership programs between the TCDSB (which provides the education component with Ontario-certified teachers) and a government-approved external facility or community agency (which provides the essential care, treatment, and/or rehabilitation services) serve students who require services in settings such as children's mental health agencies, hospitals or other residential treatment facilities.
These partnerships ensure educational continuity, aligned with the Ontario Curriculum, while recognizing that the student's primary focus must be on their health, emotional well-being, or rehabilitative needs. The education component is designed to be flexible, individualized, and supportive of the overall treatment plan.
CTEP ensures that a student's education does not suffer while they are receiving the crucial care and support needed to overcome significant personal challenges.
For the 2025–2026 school year, the TCDSB offers the following Care and Treatment Education Partnership programs:
