Student Clubs and Extracurriculars

Explore some of the student clubs and extracurricular opportunities available to the students of St. Michael's Choir School!

Big Brother Club

Moderators: Mr. Cummings and Mrs. Dovigo

Our in-person, Grade 9 class, hosts Big Brother meetings for both our Online Academy and in-person grade 3 to 6 students.

Being separated is not easy and we want to do everything we can to create opportunities for community and support.

Grades 3 and 4 Big Brother meeting is Wednesday at 4:00 PM and Grades 5 and 6 on Thursday at 4:00 PM.

The Online Academy students feel included and they have an opportunity to connect with the Grade 9s and also with their peers.

Along with spiritual teachings, led by the Grade 9s, guided by Mr. Cummings, there is laughter, conversation and mental health is touched upon as well.

The students also have a chance to send their “Questions for Fr. Josh’, questions that they have always wanted to ask but never had the chance.

Yearbook “St. Michael’s Choir School Schola”

Moderators: Mr. Hume and Ms. Porter

The yearbook crew manages the yearly yearbook which captures all the great moments throughout the year. It is usually given out at the beginning of the next term to all students from Grade 4 to 12. This book is a great reference for everyone including families and staff!

Digital Music Club for Grade 5 and 6 students

Moderator: Mr. McKie and Mr. Pakkam

Mr. James McKie, our Grades 5 and 6 Extended French teacher and Alumnus, who also happens to be a Juno award winner musician himself, has spearheaded an extracurricular digital music course that has been taking off here at St. Michael's Choir School.

Mr. McKie has enlisted some of his Alum friends who are well known in the digital music making world to come on board and share their knowledge.

Mr. McKie has put together this video highlighting the digital Music course and the ways it has enriched those boys who have been able to participate.
