School History
St. Patrick Catholic Secondary School has a rich history of transformation. Originally founded as an elementary school in 1852 on Market Street, it moved several times before becoming a secondary school on D’Arcy Street in 1986. In 1989, the school relocated to its current home on Felstead Avenue, formerly Lakeview Public School. Key milestones include:
1990: School blessing
1994: Chapel blessing and dedication
1997: Opening of the Arts, Technology, and Physical Education Wing
St. Patrick is now one of Toronto’s premier secondary schools, offering exceptional academic and extracurricular programs led by a creative and dedicated staff.
Despite our growth, our foundation remains rooted in faith. Our motto, Amor Christi Nos Impellit — The Love of Christ Impels Us — continues to guide us.

Our Patron Saints
St. Patrick: Converted Ireland to Christianity in 432 and is the patron saint of Irish refugees who came to Canada in the 1840s. He represents our Catholic, humanitarian, and historical identity.
St. Marguerite Bourgeoys: A French missionary and educator who founded the Congregation de Notre Dame (CND). Sister L. Corrigan, a CND member, was our first principal.
