St. Patrick's New Soccer Field Officially Opens
Students and Staff Celebrate with Blessing and Ribbon Cutting
On Thursday, November 16 students, staff and special guests - including Chair Angela Kennedy and Trustee Nancy Crawford, joined together to celebrate the blessing and opening of the new soccer field at St. Patrick Catholic Secondary School.
The event was presided by Fr. Carlos of St. Brigid's parish, who shared a short prayer service followed by a blessing of the field. Following the blessing, the school's boys soccer team showed off their brand new jerseys, as well as their soccer skills, with some drills on their new home field.
The new FIFA-Standard soccer field features state of the art anti-glare and anti-spill hooded LED lights. The field will also extend use into months of the year (like November!) when it has been traditionally too wet or muddy to use.
Check out pictures from the event below.
