Mathematics and Business Studies
At Loretto College School, our Mathematics and Business courses are led by a team of caring and dedicated educators who support students in developing essential skills in reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical thinking. In the Mathematics classroom, beyond numbers and formulas, students learn to collaborate effectively, connect concepts to real-world issues, and grow in confidence through meaningful learning experiences. With courses available at all levels and for every pathway, including Data Management, Calculus and Vectors, and Advanced Functions, students are supported in their unique learning journeys through diverse teaching strategies, the integration of technology, and opportunities for peer collaboration. Our classrooms are inclusive, dynamic spaces where students build both their skills and their self-assurance in mathematics.
The Business program at Loretto is thriving, offering engaging courses from Grades 10 to 12, including Launching and Leading a Business, Marketing, and Business Leadership. In these courses, students explore key business functions such as financial management, accounting, human resources, and digital communication. They also learn to think like ethical entrepreneurs and forward-thinking leaders, prepared to navigate and contribute to today’s evolving economy.
Enrichment opportunities—such as participating in University of Waterloo CEMC Math contests, excursions to Canada’s Wonderland for applied learning, and visits to institutions like Toronto Metropolitan University and TD Bank—bring classroom learning to life.
