STEAM Specialty Program

The STEAM Program at Loretto College School is an enriched, dynamic, collaborative program where students learn of the interconnectedness of Science, Technology, English, Art, and Mathematics.

In Grade 9, students are offered opportunities to experience a taste of STEAM programming, with meaningful experiences presented both inside and outside of the classroom. Students will engage in learning that promotes discussion, encourages creativity, and emphasizes the importance of collaboration. Students will fill out an official STEAM passport, on which they will document all of the activities they complete.

Students who are interested in being part of the STEAM program in their Grade 10 year will submit their multi-faceted application in December/January of Grade 9. Once accepted into the STEAM program, students will experience a year of curricular enrichment in their cohorted Grade 10 English, Math, and Science courses. Real-world problems that bridge all STEAM disciplines will be presented to students for an opportunity to work through them to find viable and sustainable solutions.
