April is Volunteer Appreciation Month. In 2023, National Volunteer Week is observed from April 16 to 22.

The Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) is pleased to celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Month and National Volunteer Week in recognition of the invaluable part that volunteers play in the life of our Catholic schools. Students and staff across our board are supported by volunteers each and every day, and we are thankful for their contributions and dedication to our school communities.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the families, friends, and individuals from our parishes and communities who share their time and talents with our schools. Each in their unique way contributes to the success of our children and enriches the lives of our students.

We also celebrate the volunteer spirit that is prevalent among our own staff and students. We see them engaged in community service projects in their schools, neighbourhoods, parishes and overseas, responding to the needs of those who are less fortunate. This generosity of spirit makes us very proud, and we thank you for continuing to exemplify our Catholic Graduate Expectations and putting your faith into action.

May God continue to bless all our volunteers and the important work that they do with such compassion and love.
