St. Patrick Catholic Secondary School's Green Team was back in action today with the first school and street clean-up of the year! Warm weather and the excitement of a new school year brought out an impressive number of students to participate in the clean-up. A total of 25 new grade 9 students attended and were in high spirits as this was their first time engaging in a community clean-up. The students picked up litter on the school premises, in the local park and on a residential street in the span of an hour. A total of 12.4 kg of waste was collected and sorted properly. All participants received community service for volunteering.
After a successful start, the clean-ups will continue on a monthly basis throughout the year, making a significant difference for our school, the community and the Earth!
