The Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) has partnered with the International Contemporary Film Festival (ICFF) to provide our students with a unique experience to view films in a variety of languages followed by an opportunity to explore various aspects of film making, including theme, plot, and character development as well as theatrical effects.
This year’s second virtual film festival is entitled ICFF Youth 2021-2022: Indigenous Film Series and will take place from November 29 to December 13, 2021.
The films selected focus on the life experiences of Indigenous people, which we hope will help our students expand their understanding of Indigenous history, culture, and ways of knowing.
The current edition of ICFF Youth features four films that focus on Indigenous peoples. Students of French Immersion and Extended French classes will be able to view the film Kuessipan in French.
Teachers will be able to access the films as well as instructional material through the ICFF website. All educational materials, additional video content for students and films are PASSWORD PROTECTED. Please see below for the correct passwords for yourself and your students to access particular films and their materials:

Similar to last year, we will be offering a panel of experts from the Indigenous community to discuss Kayak to Klemtu. The panel will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 10 AM.
