Loretto College School recently marked Mental Health Awareness Week with a variety of activities focused on promoting wellness and self-care. As part of the week’s events, Grade 9 and 10 students attended an engaging and informative assembly on human trafficking, presented by representatives from the Teens Ending Abusive Relationships (T.E.A.R.™) Program. This program works to prevent both in-person and online gender-based violence by equipping youth with the tools and knowledge to recognize the warning signs of abusive relationships and make healthy, informed choices.

In the afternoon, all students took part in a series of wellness workshops designed to model effective ways to manage stress. These included yoga, art, music, dance and movement, mindfulness exercises, skincare routines, and positive affirmation writing. In addition, students explored the risks associated with vaping, tested their knowledge through interactive Kahoot quizzes, and relaxed in a calming space offering tea and fruit-infused water.
