Loretto College School's Grade 9 students recently spent a meaningful and faith-filled day at St. Nicholas of Bari Church for their annual retreat. Centered on the theme "Using Your God-Given Talents," the day provided students with an opportunity to step away from their regular school routines and reflect on the unique gifts and abilities God has placed within each of them.
Throughout the retreat, students participated in a series of faith reflections that encouraged them to think about how their talents can be used for personal growth and to serve others and strengthen their communities. These moments of reflection helped students consider how God calls each person to contribute in different ways through kindness, leadership, creativity, compassion, and service.
A special part of the retreat was the friendship bracelet making activity, where students crafted bracelets as a symbol of unity, encouragement, and the supportive friendships they formed during their first year of high school. The retreat concluded with a time of prayer, allowing students to pause in gratitude for the talents God has given them and to ask for guidance in using those gifts with purpose and generosity. It was a beautiful moment of reflection that brought the entire group together in faith.
The Grade 9 retreat was a wonderful opportunity for students to grow spiritually, deepen friendships, and recognize that each person has a unique role to play in making the world—and their school community—a brighter place.
At Loretto College – we are the small school with a big heart – we believe that when girls are given the tools, encouragement, and opportunities they need, they can become successful women in the future!
