The Grade 10 students of Loretto College School recently participated in a meaningful and enriching retreat at the Pauline Media Retreat Centre. The day provided students with an opportunity to step away from their daily routines, deepen their faith, strengthen their community, and reflect on the values that shape life at Loretto.
A highlight of the retreat was a presentation by Father Branden Gordon, who spoke about the importance of relics within the Catholic faith. Through his engaging discussion, students learned how relics serve as tangible reminders of the lives of the saints and their witness to God. Father Branden emphasized how these sacred objects connect believers to the rich traditions of the Church and inspire individuals to grow in holiness and faith.
Students also had the privilege of hearing a heartfelt reflection from Sister Joann of the Daughters of St. Paul. Sister Joann shared personal insights about faith, vocation, and the importance of living with purpose and compassion. Her reflection encouraged students to recognize God’s presence in their everyday lives and to use their gifts in service of others.
Throughout the retreat, students explored the importance of living out the values of Mary Ward, foundress of the Loretto Sisters. The retreat emphasized the importance of supporting one another, building meaningful relationships, and working together as a faith-filled community. The day was filled with opportunities for personal reflection, spiritual growth, and collaboration, leaving students with a deeper understanding of their faith and a renewed appreciation for the Loretto community.
