On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, students from Loretto College School participated in the Loretto College School Lightning Walk-a-Thon, hosted by the Leadership Team. Led by members of the Loretto College School Lightning Cheer Team and the Leadership Team, this successful event saw students walk five kilometres through the neighbourhood before ending with a barbecue lunch.
Participants raised just over 8,000 dollars, with funds going directly back to students to support curricular and extracurricular activities at a time when rising costs have created challenges for student engagement and participation. A special shout out goes to the top donors, Leila N. in Grade 9 and Marina B. in Grade 12, for going above and beyond in their pledges.
The school also extends its appreciation to the community members and businesses that generously donated prizes for the raffle, including Tre Mari Bakery, Sunnyside Grill, The B’More Panini Shop, Dark Horse Espresso Bar, Popeye’s Supplements Stockyards, City Nails, Oxygen Yoga and Fitness Yorkdale, Stikeman Elliott LLP, and the Gikas Family.
At Loretto College School, we are the small school with a big heart. We believe that when girls are given the tools, encouragement, and opportunities they need, they can become successful women in the future.
Until next year.
