It was indeed a blessing on Sunday, June 7, to celebrate the first St. Nicholas of Bari Feast of Corpus Christi at Loretto College School, which proved to be a significant event filled with faith and community.
A Eucharistic Procession took place, led by Father Gustavo Campoli and all the children who had just received their Holy communion from the church to the school. The procession saw many joining the parish priest in honoring the Holy Sacrament by accompanying him on his procession in faith and reverence to the School for Mass.
A beautiful Mass was celebrated for The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ - it was wonderful to have community members in the school to create a sacred space and honor this day. The children who celebrated communion were officially introduced to the community and received the Host for the second time.
After Mass and procession, the celebration continued into a Community Day on the Loretto College field. This provided us all an opportunity to come together, share fellowship, and build connections that help bond our community.
Father Gustavo Campoli was, and is, a Genuine Shepherd - he led the Procession, celebrated Mass, changed his clothes to cook the Argentinian BBQ, went into the Dunk Tank (got dunked) then went back to BBQing until the end of the day.
We are very grateful for everyone who joined us for this celebration. We wish to continue celebrating this annual event in the years to come and are already discussing plans for next year. It was truly a beautiful day of faith and community at Loretto College!
