On Thursday, October 1, members of Loretto College School's Italian Club visited the residents of Villa Colombo for National Seniors Day in Canada. Villa Colombo is an "ethno-specific facility that encompasses all aspects of Italian life and culture into the care and services it provides". Our students participated in BINGO, assisting and connecting with senior residents, and building meaningful intergenerational relationships. It reminded them to honour and respect the elders in our lives, whose experiences and wisdom continue to inspire and guide us.
Our students were well received by staff and residents, and are excited to plan to do another visit during the Christmas season!
At Loretto, we are the small school with a big heart. We believe that when girls are given the tools, encouragement, and opportunities they need, they can become successful women in the future. We are Beacons of Excellence in all that we do.
