On February 17, 2026, the Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thai, Tibetan, Malaysian, Vietnamese, Singaporean and other communities in Canada and around the world will celebrate the Lunar New Year, also known as Spring Festival (Chinese), or Seollal (Korean), or Tết (Vietnamese). This holiday is celebrated by over two billion people worldwide. Families and loved ones will come together to give thanks, exchange gifts, and welcome the arrival of the Year of the Horse, a symbol of strength, freedom, perseverance, and energy.
