TCDSB Festival of the Arts

During the week of May 11 to 15, Cloverdale Mall came alive with music, movement, and creativity, as over twenty Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) schools participated in the 2026 Festival of the Arts. Formerly hosted at Woodbine Centre, the Festival has long served as a vibrant platform for both elementary and secondary students to celebrate and showcase their artistic talents before peers, family members, and local community.

Festival performances spanned a rich variety of disciplines, including school choirs, instrumental ensembles, dance ensembles, drum line, and even student-led rock bands. They highlighted the diverse and dynamic talents nurtured within TCDSB schools.

This year, the Festival also helped host the Filipino Canadian Heritage Month Celebration, in collaboration with Jodelyn Huang, from the Equity and Communications Department. A variety of schools came together to celebrate their cultural roots through singing, traditional dancing, and instrumental performances.

The Festival’s mission remains rooted in fostering a spirit of collaboration, artistic expression, and community engagement. It is designed to not only support student creativity but to encourage meaningful connections between school communities and the wider public.

The Festival Committee (led by Andria Angelosante, Anthony Agati, Anthony Feliciani, and Paul Rossi) extends a heartfelt thanks to Long and McQuade Musical Instruments for their generous sponsorship, Cloverdale Mall Management for opening their doors to our students, the Equity and Community Relations Department for continued facilitation, and to the many music teachers, classroom teachers, school administrators, and parent councils whose dedication makes this celebration of student achievement possible year after year.
