Awards Night

Awards Night is the traditional celebration held by the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) to launch Catholic Education Week. It is an opportunity to recognize the accomplishments of our alumni, students, staff and friends of Catholic education.

The 2024 Awards Night takes place on May 6.

2024 Awards Night Nominations

We encourage TCDSB community members submit nominations to celebrate the accomplishments of your alumni, students, staff and friends of Catholic education.

Completed nominations should be sent to the attention of the Communications Department via email at commdept@tcdsb.org.

Presented to alumni of a TCDSB school, who are still active in the Catholic community and who have distinguished themselves in their career or accomplishments.

Ashif Jaffer Award for Excellence in Special Education

Recognizing a TCDSB teacher, education assistant, peer tutor/helper or volunteer who has demonstrated excellence in the support of Special Education.

Friends of Catholic Education Award

Acknowledges significant contributions to Catholic education made by members of the general public and/or organizations who have accomplished extraordinary service to Catholic Education but who may not be Catholic.

Presented annually to students and teams for their outstanding academic performance, leadership in extracurricular activities, or impactful contributions to the community.

Anne Marie D’Amico Memorial Award

Presented each year to an elementary and a secondary student, acknowledging their consistent demonstrations of love and kindness towards others in the community.

Father Andrew Cuschieri Award to a Young Citizen

Presented every two years to a TCDSB student between the ages of seven and thirteen inclusive, in recognition of an extraordinary humanitarian act towards another human being.

Sister Evanne Hunter Young Women in Leadership Award

Given annually to two exceptional female students in their graduating year (one grade 8 student and one grade 12 student) in recognition of their leadership qualities and involvement in social justice efforts in their school and community.
