Catholic Parent Involvement Committee Elections

The Toronto Catholic Parent Involvement Committee (CPIC) is a provincially mandated and funded committee. The focus of the committee is to support student academic achievement through increased parent involvement. CPIC is a parent-led committee of ward representatives who work both at the Board and at the ward level.

CPIC members provide information and advice on parent engagement to the school board, create initiatives that promote and facilitate parent engagement, and educate parents to support them in their children’s learning at home and/or at school.

2026 CPIC Elections

CPIC is seeking parents and guardians to serve as representatives for the upcoming term.

CPIC elections will be taking place virtually in the evenings of October 27, 2026 (Tuesday) and October 29, 2026 (Thursday).

Interested individuals are invited to submit a self-nomination form by October 16, 2026 (Friday) at 4:00 PM.

Positions available for parents/guardians are:

Elementary Ward Representatives

  • Even wards (2 year term)

    • Ward 2

    • Ward 4

    • Ward 6

    • Ward 8 East

    • Ward 8 West

    • Ward 10

    • Ward 12

  • Odd Wards (1 year term)

    • Ward 1

    • Ward 5 East

    • Ward 9

Secondary Ward Clusters Representatives (1 year term)

  • West (Wards 1, 2, 3, 4)

  • Central (Wards 5, 6, 9, 10)

  • East (Wards 7, 8, 11, 12)

Important

Parent/Guardian members of the CPIC are required to complete a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check as a condition of participation. The Board will provide the letter required for the Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check fee to be waived.

Toronto CPIC - Community Representative

There are 3 voting Community Representative positions available in Toronto CPIC, appointed by the CPIC at the Inaugural meeting or at a subsequent meeting if there continues to be Community Representative Member vacancies. The term for the community representative is 1 year.

CPIC Community Representative Application Form

Interested community organizations who wish to be considered for nomination must submit a letter to the CPIC Chair (via email) which will be considered by The Committee in public at the Inaugural meeting, or at a subsequent scheduled meeting. You should outline how you meet the required eligibility criteria, the assigned member of your organization who will represent the organization and how you would advance the mission of the Toronto Catholic Parent Involvement Committee.

An organization proposing to appoint an individual must meet ALL of the following criteria:

  • Be connected with an established and recognized community organization the purpose of which is aligned with CPIC’s mandate and vision.

  • Represent a clear geographic or component of the community at large.

  • Be aligned with the TCDSB and Catholic values.

  • Bring added expertise and/or perspective to the Committee’s discussions.
