Community Reminders
To help maintain a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment for all students, the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) reminds families of key policies related to device use, substance restrictions, and social media access during school hours.
Safe Device Usage
To support a focused and productive learning environment:
Kindergarten to Grade 6: devices must be turned off or set to silent and stored away throughout the school day.
Grades 7 to 12: devices must be turned off or set to silent and stored away during instructional time.
Families are encouraged to review our Device Use Policy for more information.
Smoking, Vaping and Other Substances
Smoking tobacco or cannabis and vaping are strictly prohibited on school property and within 20 metres of school grounds.
Students found in possession of alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, recreational cannabis, or illegal substances will have their parent(s)/guardian(s) notified, and the item(s) will be confiscated by school staff. Further action, including progressive discipline, may also be considered.
Social Media Access
To help reduce distractions and support student well-being, access to all social media platforms is now restricted on TCDSB networks and school-issued devices during school hours.
