Toronto Catholic District School Board

Programs And Services

The Programs offered by the Toronto Catholic District School Board are as varied as the students who attend our schools. Catering to students with diverse learning needs, we provide a broad spectrum of academic courses, including programs focusing on the arts, technology and languages. Our special programs include those for the learning disabled, the deaf and hard of hearing and the visually impaired. We provide education in both official languages with a range of French Immersion and French as a Second Language programs, and we provide international languages at most schools. Adult learners can choose from day and night school programs, credit and interest courses offered at numerous locations throughout Toronto.

Secondary school students also have a range of options, including French Immersion, Student Leadership, International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, focus on the arts or math, science and technology, co-operative education and apprenticeship programs in both single-gender and co-educational schools, as well as Adult Education.

In addition to offering quality education from junior kindergarten through grade 12/OAC, the Toronto Catholic District School Board provides a number of services to parents, young children and the community at large. These include programs for adults as well as a variety of child care options for those with younger children (resource programs, daycare centres, after-school programs, recreational programs, nutrition programs and summer literacy camps). ESL programs are provided for children as well as adults. The Orientation Centre is the first point of contact for secondary students and their families who arrive from outside of the country. The centre offers a variety of services to these newcomers including assessment and placement. School bus transportation is available to elementary students who meet the eligibility criteria set out in the board's transportation policy.
