Hiring Process and Practices

The Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) endeavours to ensure continuous improvement in service and program delivery, and staff member development, to nurture the faith development and academic excellence of our Catholic learning community through the love of God, neighbour, and self.

We acknowledge the value of attracting, recruiting, and retaining excellent staff members. Within Us – Between Us – Around Us, the work of equity must enhance the way we wrap our services around our learning communities. It is not the work of any one person, but rather it is within us to move forward; between us to dialogue and problem-solve; and around us that we will see the fruits of our labour. We are committed to creating and nourishing an ethical, inclusive, caring, and safe work environment through recruitment practices that are equitable, transparent, and support the Board’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan and Equity Action Plan.

The Board is committed to recruiting and promoting candidates based on qualifications, experiences, and the demonstration of values which align with the Board’s mission and vision. The TCDSB Recruitment Strategy is committed to creating a diverse pool of applicants through job posting advertisements, social media, and community networks and associations. We follow the Fair Practice in Hiring and Promotion Policy, which ensures a transparent, equitable, and fair selection process for all candidates.

All current opportunities will be posted on our website. The job postings include qualifications, a description of the job, start and end dates, screening questions related to the position, and an equity, diversity, and accommodation statement.
