Dear TCDSB Families,

It has come to our attention that there have been a few phishing e-mails sent to staff and students over the last week offering student job opportunities and internships.

As we strive to protect our students and the broader community, we encourage everyone to remain vigilant and adhere to safe online practices when using Board issued e-mails or devices.

Sophisticated phishing emails may appear to come from the TCDSB, but they are not legitimate or affiliated with the Board.

If your child receives a suspicious email, please do not click on any links or respond to the message.

We encourage everyone to remain cautious and follow these best practices:

  • Do not open or forward emails from unknown senders.

  • Double-check email addresses and be cautious of urgent requests for personal information, including those that claim to offer opportunities, giveaways or employment.

  • Avoid clicking on suspicious links or downloading unverified attachments.

  • Regularly update your devices and software to ensure you have the latest security protections.

  • Keep your passwords secure and avoid reusing them across platforms.

  • Use your TCDSB issued e-mail address for school purposes only.

  • If you have shared financial information with a suspicious sender, notify your financial institution.

  • Report any suspicious emails to cyber.alert@tcdsb.org.

We take cybersecurity seriously and are committed to keeping our school communities safe.

Thank you for your attention and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Toronto Catholic District School Board
