Dear TCDSB Community:

All Toronto Catholic District School Board schools and Board sites will be closed tomorrow, Monday, January 26. Bus transportation, childcare centres, before-and after-school programs, and permits are also cancelled.

As a result, there will be no secondary school exams tomorrow. The exam schedule will be adjusted for Monday, January 26 only (more details below).

This decision was not made lightly and followed consultation with Toronto Police Services and the City of Toronto, which has issued a Significant Weather Event and Major Snowstorm Condition due to the volume of accumulated snowfall and ongoing clean-up efforts.

We recognize this decision may be disruptive for families and appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of our students, families, and staff, based on the best information available at this time.

Given the severity of the storm, communicating this decision earlier than usual helps families plan ahead and assists the City of Toronto with ongoing snow removal and clean-up efforts expected to continue in the coming days.

Notice to Families with Secondary Students Only – Exam Schedule Impacted

  • Exams scheduled for Monday, January 26 will be rescheduled to Thursday, January 29, at the same times.

  • Exams scheduled for Tuesday, January 27 and Wednesday, January 28 will proceed as planned.

  • Programming and bus transportation for students in Intensive Support Program (ISP) classes will continue on all scheduled exam days including Thursday, January 29.

Please note the Board uses a range of methods to communicate with families during inclement weather, with the most up-to-date information available on the Board’s website and social media channels.

As outlined in TCDSB’s Inclement Weather Protocol, on rare occasions, severe weather makes it necessary to close schools, administrative offices or sites. These decisions are not made lightly and are guided by our ongoing commitment to the safety and well-being of students, staff, and families.
