Dear TCDSB Families,

Ready, set, September! The 2026-2027 school year is almost here.

We’re getting ready to welcome students and families back for a year filled with faith, learning and new experiences. To help you prepare for the upcoming school year, we’ve pulled together a few key reminders, resources, and ways to stay connected.

School Communications

A few quick steps can help you stay up to date on school-related information:

Resources for Families

  • Parents/Guardians Resources: Features important tools and resources to help families navigate the school system.

  • Get Involved: Learn more about the different parent committees and groups.

  • Mental Health and Well-Being Resources: Access resources including tips for families, videos, websites, and agency information about child and youth mental health and available supports.

  • Strategic and Action Plans: The Multi-Year Strategic Plan (MYSP) , Pastoral Plan and our Action Plans collectively outline the Board's vision, goals, and initiatives for student success.

  • Public Transportation: TTC tips and reminders related to back-to-school.

  • TTC Fare Support (Secondary Only): Families with secondary students who may need help covering transportation costs are invited to apply for TTC fare support. Applications can be completed online, and tickets will be allocated and distributed based on financial need.

  • Presto Tickets: Please keep in mind that any Presto tickets given throughout the year have an expiry date and cannot be refunded if they are not used.

  • TTC Fare Changes: Starting September 1, 2026, the TTC will introduce monthly fare capping. Customers using the same payment method will ride free after 47 paid trips in a calendar month.

  • Volunteer with Us: Interested in volunteering at your child’s school? Learn more about becoming a volunteer, including the required police record check on our website.

  • Student and Family Support Office: Need help navigating a question or concern? Families are encouraged to begin with their child’s teacher or principal. If additional support is needed, the Student and Family Support Office can help clarify next steps and connect families with the appropriate Board staff or resources.

  • Stay Connected: Get the latest information on weather-related closures, important Board announcements and other timely updates by following us on Instagram | Facebook | X | LinkedIn

  • Q&A with CEO Browne: Starting in September, families can submit questions to CEO Browne about programming, school life and more through @torontocatholicdsb for his monthly Q&A series. The first Q&A will take place in September and continue monthly throughout the year.

Toronto Public Health (TPH)

  • As the school year begins, check out tips from TPH on staying healthy.

  • Toronto Public Health encourages families to stay up to date with all vaccinations, as outlined in the Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA). This includes vaccinations for measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, polio, pertussis (whooping cough), meningococcal disease and varicella (chickenpox).

TCDSB Policies and Procedures

As we begin the school year, families may wish to review the following policies: Device Use, Acceptable Use of Technology, Code of Conduct, Dress Code for Pupils, and Progressive Discipline.
