Over 115 Grade 12 students, from across the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) secondary schools, met at the Catholic Education Centre (CEC) to prepare for the upcoming Accelerated Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) Interviews.

TCDSB offers Level 1 Apprenticeship opportunities in 13+ Skilled Trades careers through partnerships with 4 Colleges (Humber, Centennial, George Brown, and Seneca), 3 Unions, and the MLITSD (Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, Skills Development).

Once accepted into the programs, students work on a Cooperative Education curriculum, earning credits towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and have the opportunity to attend 8 weeks of Level 1 apprenticeship training with certified instructors, on-site at the program’s training partners’ facilities.
