Tentative Agreement Reached; Schools Open October 7th

We are pleased to inform you that we have received notice that the Ontario Council of Trustees’ Associations and the Province have reached a tentative agreement with CUPE. We appreciate the efforts of everyone involved in the collective bargaining table for working throughout the weekend.

This means that all schools will be open. Regularly scheduled programming will continue and CUPE will not be initiating a full withdrawal of services.

We are relieved that an agreement could be reached in time to avoid any disruption to the education of our students.

Parents are encouraged to speak with their local school with respect to any school events or activities that were being postponed or rescheduled in the event of job action.

The Board also thanks parents, students, staff and volunteers for their patience and understanding.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school Monday morning.
