Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope you had a safe and restful summer. As we prepare to welcome students back for the new school year, I want to thank you for your continued partnership in supporting your child’s education.
With the Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) currently under provincial supervision, we remain committed to ensuring that parents, guardians, and students can continue to ask questions, share concerns, and actively contribute to shaping the future of our board.
The following are key changes to governance and engagement, as directed by the Ministry of Education, that reflect this commitment:
Board and Committee Meetings: Under the direction of the Ministry of Education, regular Board of Trustees meetings have been paused until further notice. Committees mandated under the Education Act, including Audit, Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC), and the Catholic Parent Involvement Committee (CPIC), will continue with the ongoing leadership of staff. Further operating details will be determined as the school year begins.
Parent/Guardian Concerns: If you have a question or concern about your child’s education or school experience, please start by speaking with staff at your child’s school. Those closest to the situation are usually best positioned to address it quickly and effectively. For more information on the best way to address concerns that would normally be facilitated through a trustee, visit our Student / School Related Concerns page.
